Barganier, and Zuffi are trained emergency dentists and we at Carolina Complete Dental have treated numerous tooth injuries<\/a> in Goose Creek. We know that it can be very scary and there are plenty of myths flying around, so we wrote this article as a guide for you to use in times of tooth injury and general tooth crisis. Life is full of colorful opportunities to injure your teeth. The important thing is not how your tooth has been broken, chipped, fractured, or knocked loose, but what steps you take to ensure Drs. Barganier, and Zuffi have the best chance of restoring your smile to its natural, happy state. Use this guide to prepare yourself for any situation.<\/p>\n

Oh no! You have a loose tooth! Here\u2019s what to do:<\/b><\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Follow the golden rule \u2013 \u201cIt it\u2019s still in your mouth, don\u2019t take it out!\u201d No matter how flimsy the connection may be, if your tooth is attached in any way do not wiggle it and do not do anything to try to remove it.<\/b> In fact, it is best to touch it as little as possible.<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Call your emergency dentist<\/a>, Drs. Barganier, and Zuffi, immediately and we\u2019ll talk you through it.<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Head over to Carolina Complete Dental. We\u2019ll get you in as soon as we can for an emergency appointment and Drs. Barganier, and Zuffi will set you right.<\/p>\n

Ouch! Something knocked your tooth clean out of your mouth! Here\u2019s what to do:<\/b><\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Find the tooth! If it is dirty from being on the ground or even a less desirable place, rinse it clean with lukewarm water. DO NOT use anything other than water to rinse, attempt to scrub or disinfect it, or remove any tissue that is hanging on.<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The tooth has a much better chance of survival if it doesn\u2019t dry out. Setting the tooth in a container with milk is the best option<\/b>, but lukewarm water will suffice if milk is absent from the scene of the tooth crime.<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Again, Call Drs. Barganier, and Zuffi right away and we\u2019ll help you get through your tooth trauma.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the Key Ingredient in These Situations?<\/b><\/p>\n

Time, of course! If you or a family member has experienced a tooth injury or are in need of an emergency dentist, it is best to deal with it immediately. The success of any treatment\u00a0<\/a> we administer after an injury is largely dependent on how soon you get here. Ideally, Drs. Barganier, and Zuffi would prefer to see you less than 30 minutes after the tooth injury <\/b>in order to give you the best chance of a successful re-implantation. However, don\u2019t panic if it\u2019s been longer, because we might still be able to help you, even after several hours.<\/p>\n
